Welcome to 1wheel1gift.org My name is Robert Coggins. I'm a Unicyclist. . . I'm an extreme unicyclist who rides long distances on a unicycle for charity events. This year I’m down size all the event so I can focus on doing more Triathlons. I will still do alot of the other charity events but my main focus will be cancer events.

This summer, I will be my 5th year participating in 24 Hours of Booty, a 24-hour cycling event on a unicycle to raises money for national and local cancer initiatives. Along with national beneficiary, LIVESTRONG™, 24 Hours of Booty also supports the Aflac Cancer Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as well as many other local charities. The organizations are having a tremendous impact on our neighbors battling cancer, and I’m very proud to be able to support their efforts.

1.4 million Americans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year. 560,000 Americans are expected to die from cancer this year, or more than 1,500 per day. The overall cost for cancer last year was $206 billion, which includes $78 billion for medical bills, $18 billion for lost productivity from the illness, and $110 billion due to lost productivity from premature death. 17% of Americans younger than age 65 have no health insurance coverage and 24% of Americans age 65 or older only have Medicare.

The reason for doing both of these events is because I have family and friends that are living with these diseases and fighting a battle to stay alive. I also want to honor those who have passed on. I believe that some men are put on this earth to do great things for mankind, and I believe that I was put on this earth to something great. I'm one man on one unicycle fighting one great battle, and I need your help. Below is more information on each event and link to the website if you would like to make a gift. If you would like to mail in a gift for this event, send me an email.

2012 24 Hours of Booty is the one and only 24-hour road cycling charity event in the country. The ride itself is a meaningful experience for riders and supporters of the event. Participant sinclude cancer survivors celebrating life and strength; and family and friends who ride in honor of a loved one affected by cancer, or in memory of a loved one who lost the battle with the disease.

The Bootlegger Super Sprint is my very first Triathlon and, yes, I will be doing this on my Unicycle. I would like to thank Five Star NTP for letting me do this event. Bootlegger Super Sprint is a great race for beginners! Five Star NTP's goal is to have a low pressure event, but one that will be full of energy. 2011 Muddy Buddy Countdown
The Challenged Athletes Foundation grew out of a desire to assist one athlete paralyzed in a triathlon. From this modest beginning arose a more important mission – to make sure people with physical challenges have the same freedom to enjoy sports as everyone else. CAF believes that participation in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life.
